Apple symmetry

1. Make sure pupils know what symmetrical means.
2. Get students to cut Bramley apples in half and compare the halves.
3. Are the halves symmetrical?
4. Ask pupils to draw the inside halves of the apples and compare the areas of each half.
5. What other objects do they know that are symmetrical?
