Five-a-day food diary

One of the best ways to keep your body healthy is to eat at least five portions or fruit or vegetables a day. What is a portion? One portion is the amount of fruit or vegetable that you could squash into a large ball and hold in your hand. A portion is about the size of your fist.

Portions can come from tinned, frozen or fresh fruit and vegetables. Each day real fruit juice can count as one portion and dried fruit can count as one portion. The other three portions can't come from more juice or dried fruit so you'll need to eat vegetables too!

One portion =

A glass of fruit juice or A bowl of vegetable soup or A baked apple

Keep a food diary for a week and try to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.

At the end of the week count up your portions and see if you are eating at least five portions of fruit and vegetable a day. Download the food diary.
